If you want to make a living by making a difference, join Acenda as an Emergency Screener Position Summary: The Emergency Screener responds to all referrals from police providing de-escalation and community-based planning as able. If unable to safely remain in the community, screener conducts mental health evaluations and assessments to determine the need for hospitalization, either voluntary or involuntary. The position requires on call availability for nights/weekends for crisis need and SWAT responses (Gloucester County Only). $1000 Sign-On Bonus Is Available! As an integrated health organization Acenda values the use of evidence-based practice or EBP's. Key Responsibilities:
- Responds to police-initiated outreach for mental and behavioral health calls involving law enforcement. Response time is rapid and meets state guidelines for ARRIVE emergency situations
- Follows a close in time and follow up mProvides de-escalation techniques to individuals and supports law enforcement in crisis response. Performs follow ups as needed.odel of response.
- Completes all required documentation and screening assessments, data tracking, and any additional job requirements.
- Responds to barricaded (crisis) negotiation and/or SWAT team calls during or after hours (Gloucester County Only).
- Maintains crisis training, supports education to law enforcement and community, works alongside screening team, and provides resources and linkages to individuals served for community discharges.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements:
- Master's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus one year of postmaster's, full-time equivalent, professional experience in a psychiatric setting; or
- Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus three years post-bachelors, full-time equivalent, professional experience in the mental health field, one of which is in a crisis setting;
- Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field, one of which is in a crisis setting and currently enrolled in a master's program.
- A Screener Certification is required
- Current or ability to work towards certification for Crisis Negotiation.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeated motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- The employee must occasionally move about to accomplish tasks, adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information

- Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field with clinical training.

- Sign-On Bonus: $1000
- Base Pay: Starting hourly rate of $26.52
- Bilingual Rate: An additional $1.50/hourly rate added to the base pay if Spanish proficient. Department/Program Psych Emergency Rehab Srvcs
