• Analyzes, designs, develops, and modifies application software using languages such as SAP ABAP, Java, PL/SQL, COBOL, and MS.NET to satisfy user and logistics business needs.
• Configures software and implements functional designs consistent with DLA systems architecture, architectural policies, and security and privacy accreditation requirements.
• Evaluates user requirements and technical feasibility to design software solutions, collaborating with functional analysts, DLA representatives, DoD, and military services.
• Conducts risk analysis to advise management on software development impacts, schedules, and mitigation strategies, participating in project reviews and evaluation of RFPs.
• Prepares software test descriptions, creates test data, and executes comprehensive test plans covering CSCI/HWCI and system qualification testing.
• Manages software releases, prepares deployment executables, coordinates installation at user sites, and implements emergency recovery procedures after system failures.
• Researches transaction errors, tracks daily metrics, monitors production/test systems to ensure proper operation, and develops operating manual procedures.
• Investigates technological developments and new integration methodologies to improve software design, documentation, testing, and lifecycle support processes. Qualifications To qualify for a

IT Specialist

(APPSW), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting application software solutions Using programming languages and tools (such as SAP ABAP, Java, PL/SQL, or SQL) in an enterprise environment Performing requirements analysis, software problem troubleshooting, or system integration. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
