TITLE: High School Intern CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME,

Unpaid Reports

TO: Principal DURATION: FALL 2026 (through December 2026) School Overview: Since 1912, God has been calling his people together here in South Holland to intentionally love and learn together with a deep hope for the world in which we live. Intern Brief: Calvin Christian School is excited to partner with High School Programs to offer an internship experience. This position is designed to provide hands-on, real-world experience supporting the school’s academic programming. Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom that is assigned
  • Support students and teachers at recess and/or lunch duties
  • Learn more about student/child development to prepare students for their next academic supports
  • Be proactive in supporting teachers in the classroom Disposition:
  • Love for God and his children
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Display passion, energy, and enthusiasm for tasks
  • Maintain a positive team atmosphere and develop colleagueships with fellow staff
  • Uphold, stand by, and exemplify the school’s mission
  • Appropriately dressed, well-groomed and neat
  • Perform daily tasks and responsibilities with integrity Responsibilities of the Intern:
  • Complete required internship hours
  • Be punctual
  • Behave in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate ability to work with others
  • Demonstrate willingness to ask for help and guidance
  • Respond well to constructive feedback
  • Be directly accountable to the on-site supervisor for actions and behavior while on-site
  • Abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the placement agency/organization. This is particularly important for confidentiality and ethical conduct. Internship Objectives:
  • Gain hands-on experience with students.
  • Develop problem-solving skills and support students with conflict resolution skills on the playground.
  • Strengthen collaboration and communication skills while working teaching staff. Daily Responsibilities:
  • Be in assigned classroom, at assigned time.
  • Maintain a friendly and positive attitude toward students, parents, staff and administration
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect, showing love and patience at all times
  • Provide support to staff in any way that might be needed Pay and Benefits: This is an unpaid internship Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently during shift
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand. Travel Requirements None. Working Conditions Work is performed at the school.
