Job Details The Senior Manager and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is responsible for managing the daily operations, clinical services, financial and regulatory oversight of a pharmacy focused on dispensing high-cost advanced therapies. Ensures safe, compliant, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacy services in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and company policies. Serves as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and is accountable for maintaining pharmacy compliance, licensure readiness, quality oversight, and operational performance. Provides leadership across staffing, workflow execution, patient service, and continuous improvement activities, while partnering cross-functionally to support service continuity and business objectives. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements. Location: This role is 100% onsite role within Dallas Forth Worth metropolitan area. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 6:30AM to 6:30PM. CLOSED on Saturdays, Sundays and all major holidays. Monday through Friday shifts are 8.5 hours, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch. Responsibilities:

• Manages day-to-day pharmacy operations associated with the intake, review, verification, dispensing, and distribution of high-cost advanced therapies in accordance with professional practice standards and applicable legal requirements.
• Serves as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge for the pharmacy and maintains accountability for compliance with all applicable state boards of pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), accreditation standards, and other regulatory requirements, as applicable.
• Maintains current knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice and assesses the operational impact of regulatory changes to ensure timely implementation of required updates.
• Ensures the pharmacy maintains all required licenses, permits, registrations, and records necessary for lawful operation, including supporting non-resident pharmacy and PIC requirements, as applicable.
• Coordinates and supports regulatory inspections, accreditation reviews, audits, and corrective action activities; serves as a liaison with boards of pharmacy, accrediting bodies, and other regulatory agencies, as appropriate.
• Develops, implements, maintains, and enforces pharmacy operational and clinical policies and procedures to support safe, compliant, and efficient workflow execution.
• Monitors pharmacy workflow, prescription volume, turnaround times, staffing coverage, service levels, and quality metrics to ensure operational goals and patient care standards are consistently achieved.
• Responsible for achieving business goals and operational metrics for the pharmacy, including service, quality, productivity, financial, and compliance measures.
• Participates in fiscal management activities for the pharmacy to optimize performance, manage expenses, and support sustainable growth, including budget planning, business reviews, and month-end operational and financial processes.
• Partners cross-functionally with operations, patient support, reimbursement, supply chain, quality, compliance, legal, and technology teams to support continuity of service and resolution of operational issues.
• Reviews workflow trends, operational reporting, and service issues to identify process gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement; implements solutions to improve safety, efficiency, consistency, and customer experience.
• Oversees inventory practices, medication storage, replenishment activities, and controls designed to minimize waste, prevent stockouts, and ensure proper handling and accountability of pharmaceutical products, including controlled substances, as applicable.
• Maintains and executes established procedures concerning quality assurance, quality improvement, medication security, controlled substance accountability, and required record retention.
• Monitors and audits pharmacy transactions, records, and operational activities to ensure adherence to internal policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ensures pharmacists, technicians, interns, and support staff maintain appropriate licensure, training, competency, and documentation required to perform assigned responsibilities.
• Manages associate relations functions for pharmacy staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, conflict resolution, and corrective action, in accordance with company policy.
• Reviews staffing levels and scheduling needs to ensure appropriate pharmacist and support coverage, maintain workflow continuity, and support patient care and service expectations.
• Leads departmental meetings, staff communications, and in-service training related to operational updates, regulatory changes, quality initiatives, and workflow expectations.o Provides clinical oversight for the pharmacy, including pharmacist consultation, prescription verification support, patient counseling escalation, and resolution of complex therapy or service-related issues.
• Consults with patients and/or caregivers regarding prescribed medications, including dosage, administration requirements, storage, adherence considerations, potential adverse effects, and possible drug interactions.
• Supports processes designed to promote a seamless continuum of care for patients receiving complex therapies, including coordination with prescribers, care teams, payers, and internal support functions, as appropriate.
• Reviews escalated patient, provider, payer, or client concerns and ensures timely, appropriate resolution to support patient safety and service excellence.
• Establishes and reinforces a culture of compliance, accountability, operational discipline, customer service, and continuous improvement throughout the pharmacy.
• Provides consultation and recommendations to leadership regarding operational strategy, resource planning, workflow design, compliance risk, and service enhancements.
• Participates in the implementation of new programs, systems, technologies, and operational initiatives to support growth, scalability, standardization, and audit readiness.
• Performs related duties as assigned. Education: Requires broad training in pharmacy, healthcare administration, business administration, operations management, or a related field generally obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree program; Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree preferred. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Texas is required. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of California is strongly preferred. Must be eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge in the state of employment and be able to obtain additional pharmacist licensure and/or non-resident PIC licensure in other jurisdictions as required by the business within designated timeframes. Normally requires at least seven (5) years of progressively responsible pharmacy experience in pharmacy operations, medication distribution, mail order, ambulatory, hospital, infusion, or other complex therapy environments, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
