It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work This is a 300-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of chemical dependency treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community. Rehabilitation and Reentry Treatment staff plans, administers, and coordinates chemical dependency screening and substance use disorder treatment services within the Department of Adult Correction. The selected candidate for this position will function as part of the clinical team at a 300-bed residential treatment program and will provide administrative/clinical supervision and training to assigned staff. This position will provide case consultation and educational and clinical counseling in serious and complicated cases requiring a wide range of advanced clinical skills with a specific focus on co-occurring diagnosis in the resident population. Other duties associated with this position include counseling; consultation with psychiatrist, substance abuse program manager, facility management, medical team; and individual treatment planning and delivery. - Knowledge of the theories or practices of chemical dependency counseling
- Experience in the assessment, treatment, and/or referral of substance abusing offenders or of clients involved in the criminal justice system.
- Knowledge of an electronic system of treatment records and of a spreadsheet application Necessary Special Qualifications Licensed as a Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) or as a Clinical Supervisor Intern (CSI) to practice under the provisions of the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Act.
