What You Will Do Join the Test Solutions Engineering team within the Hardware Discipline Center at Raytheon, where we architect and build sophisticated software applications and automated test environments for mission-critical defense systems. In this role, you will develop cutting-edge software solutions that interface directly with state-of-the-art engineering hardware, supporting products across the entire lifecycle—from early lab demonstrations and design verification to high-rate production testing and long-term sustainment. Working alongside a collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will design robust tools that ensure our nation's defense technologies perform flawlessly. Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, and integrate object-oriented software applications and test software targeting Windows operating platforms.
- Develop and derive system-level software requirements, operational specifications, and architectural designs.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications to ensure rigorous test accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate software test tools with specialized hardware instrumentation.
- Participate actively in formal design reviews, code peer reviews, and technical defect resolution.
- Work within structured engineering frameworks applying both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles. Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date.
- Experience developing, testing, or integrating software applications using one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Python, or Visual Basic (VB/VBA/.NET).
- Experience developing, building, and debugging software applications targeting Windows operating systems using the Microsoft Visual Studio integrated development environment (IDE).
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects. Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated foundation in software development principles and Object-Oriented Design (OOD/OOP), including encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and modular class structure.
- Experience or coursework utilizing C# or modern C++ in an engineering or laboratory test setting.
- Familiarity with hardware/software interfacing, test automation frameworks, or instrumentation control (e.g., via GPIB, Ethernet, or serial interfaces).
- Hands-on exposure to version control tools (such as Git) and Agile software development practices.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical problem-solving skills applied to complex software/hardware integration issues. What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD
- 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
