Description At Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services (HCS), the work we do matters. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant/Accounts Payable professional to join our Fiscal team and help ensure the financial operations that support our mission run smoothly and efficiently. Position Summary Under the direction of the Senior Controller, the Staff Accountant/Accounts Payable professional is responsible for accurate and timely accounts payable processing while supporting general accounting, accounts receivable, reconciliations, audits, and other Fiscal Department functions. Requirements
- Process and maintain accounts payable, including invoice coding, verification, data entry, payments, and vendor records.
- Prepare cash requirements and assist with check processing and outstanding check follow-up.
- Prepare annual 1099s and assist with escheatment requirements.
- Complete assigned account reconciliations and assist with journal entries and AP accruals.
- Assist with accounts receivable, general ledger activities, financial reporting, and audits.
- Research discrepancies and assist with process improvements and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fiscal Department.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable and/or general ledger.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Nonprofit or healthcare accounting experience preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
