Cobalt Service Partners (CSP) is building the nation's leading commercial access and security integration platform. Backed by Alpine Investors , a middle-market private equity firm, we grow by acquiring businesses that install, maintain, and repair commercial gates, doors, loading docks, and integrated security systems. Since launching in late 2023, Cobalt has acquired 22 partner companies and established itself in a highly attractive and fragmented industry. We have done this by partnering with founder-led companies that have spent decades earning trust in their local markets. Our mission is to honor those legacies, enhance operations through disciplined execution, and drive growth through high-frequency M&A. Southeast Regional Finance Business Partner Reports to: Director of Corporate Finance; dotted line into Regional President Location: Remote within the Southeast, based near a major hub airport (e.g. Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Orlando, Tampa, Charleston, New Orleans); ~25-30% travel We're looking for a finance leader who is as comfortable closing the books as they are building the forecast. You'll be the finance partner to the Southeast Regional President across five acquired partner companies. Our partner companies come to us as independent businesses, and their finance functions reflect that: different systems, different practices, and little standardization. At newly acquired companies, you'll be hands-on with the local accounting team: running the close, converting from cash to accrual, and building processes. At more established ones, you'll shift toward planning and analysis that improves margin, cash flow, and decision-making. What You'll Do
- Partner with the Regional President. Serve as a strategic partner to the Regional President, tracking regional performance, finding opportunities and leading growth initiatives to expand margin and EBITDA, and turning analysis into decisions.
- Integrate new acquisitions. Support acquisition diligence and the combination of businesses where companies are merged.
- Build the business rhythm. Set the region's finance operating cadence, including close calendars, flash reports, monthly business reviews, and forecast cycles, so leaders get consistent, timely information they can act on.
- Own planning and reporting. Lead budgeting, forecasts, variance analysis, and monitor regional KPIs and P&L targets.
- Oversee the monthly close. Deliver an accurate, on-time GAAP close across all partner companies.
- Get the high-risk areas right. Own the accuracy of job costing, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and WIP schedules, inventory, and significant estimates and accruals. Build the reviews, reconciliations, and controls that make these numbers reliable and hold up under audit.
- Manage cash. Own and maintain rolling 13-week cash flow forecasting and working capital across the region.
- Standardize systems and processes. Lead ERP testing and implementations and system integrations so every company runs on a common playbook.
- Protect the business. Maintain internal controls and compliance, and partner with the CSP finance team on audits and tax.
- Build the team. Lead and develop finance and accounting staff across the partner companies. What You Bring Required:
- 8+ years in finance and accounting, including meaningful time in both FP&A and controllership
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred
- Hands-on experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, job costing, WIP schedules, and inventory accounting
- Sound judgment on significant estimates and accruals, and the ability to support them to auditors
- Direct ownership of month-end close, reporting, and variance analysis in a multi-entity or decentralized environment
- A track record of building finance processes from scratch and bringing structure to non-standardized environments
- Experience integrating acquired businesses into a common finance and reporting structure, preferably in a private equity environment
- Comfort working day-to-day in multiple ERPs and accounting systems and picking up new ones quickly, with hands-on leadership of at least one ERP implementation or changeover
- Strong GAAP, budgeting, modeling, and cash flow and working-capital skills
- The credibility to lead a finance team and influence senior operators you don't directly manage What We Offer
- Competitive base salary and bonus potential (actual offer based on experience)
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- PTO plus paid holidays
- Professional development support and opportunities
- The chance to shape finance for a fast-growing platform backed by a PE sponsor committed to long-term growth Our Values
