As an Engagement Manager with Hakkoda, an IBM Company, you'll lead data platform engagements from start to finish. You'll bring clients and delivery teams together to turn modern data solutions into measurable business outcomes. Your Role and Responsibilities As an Project Manager Specializing in Data & AI, you will be the main point of contact for client stakeholders and lead a cross-functional team to deliver solutions with measurable business value. You will be accountable for client satisfaction, project health, and profitability, and you will manage scope, cost, schedule, and quality across the engagement. Your primary responsibilities will include: Ensure Client Satisfaction: Serve as the trusted main point of contact for client stakeholders, from working teams to executive sponsors. Build transparent, long-term partnerships and set clear expectations about the IBM / Hakkoda delivery approach and the client involvement it requires. Monitor Project Health: Continuously track scope, schedule, budget, quality, and team health. Identify risks early, act before they escalate, and own escalations with a strategic mindset so delivery stays aligned with client expectations. Define and Drive Business Value: Tie every roadmap, milestone, and deliverable to client objectives. Measure outcomes, show ROI, and use client communications to reinforce the value being delivered. Manage Project Economics: Oversee budgets, resource allocation, and margins so the project stays profitable. Manage scope changes through documented, approved change control. Identify Growth Opportunities: Build relationships beyond the first sponsor and across departments. Connect client needs to broader Hakkoda and IBM capabilities, and work with account leadership to shape follow-on work. Lead and Develop the Team: Guide data engineers, analysts, and architects to consulting standards. Create accountability without micromanaging, shield the team from distractions, and recognize wins while correcting course quickly. Make Critical Decisions: Act decisively with incomplete information, challenge unrealistic expectations, and balance client priorities with what the project can deliver. Take ownership of tough decisions and their results. Engagement Management: Proven experience in project or engagement management, including client-facing consulting experience. Project Methodologies: Experience applying Agile and hybrid methods to plan, run, and monitor projects. Planning and Budgeting: Ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables profitably. Stakeholder Management: Executive-level communication, plus experience building trusted client relationships. Team Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving accountability. Language: Fluent English. Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or Snowflake/cloud certifications. Data Migrations: Experience moving legacy warehouses to cloud platforms. Account Growth: Experience supporting pre-sales, SOWs, or change orders. Data Platform Delivery: Proven delivery of data engineering, analytics, or cloud data platform projects. Cloud Data Knowledge: Working knowledge of Snowflake or Databricks, data pipelines, Medallion Architecture, and BI tools.
