Financial Assistant
About the Role
Nursing Services of SA and Ambition 24 Hours are South African nursing placement businesses operating within the A24 Group. Combined, they place approximately 500 nursing candidates weekly. We are looking for a Financial Assistant to provide hands-on support across credit control, accounts payable and payroll administration, and to pick up additional tasks as capacity demands.
Key Responsibilities Credit Control Support
- Assisting with collections follow-up on outstanding nursing client accounts
- Generating and sending debtor statements and remittance allocations
- Escalating overdue accounts and maintaining accurate debtor records
Accounts Payable Support
- Capturing and processing supplier invoices on Pastel Partner (DBit)
- Preparing creditor reconciliations and resolving supplier queries
- Assisting with payment runs
Payroll Support
- Assisting the payroll team with weekly nursing payroll processing as required
- Timesheet checking and basic accuracy verification GENERAL
- Providing cover and support across the finance team where there are capacity gaps
- Assisting with month-end processes and ad hoc finance tasks as directed REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum: Relevant finance or accounting qualification (Diploma or equivalent)
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar finance support role
- Experience with Pastel Partner or Pastel Payroll advantageous
- Exposure to credit control or debtors management
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong numeracy and data accuracy SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Flexible and adaptable — willing to assist wherever the team needs support
- Reliable, accurate and self-motivated
- Good interpersonal skills for client and supplier liaison
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without losing accuracy
