Description Pacific Architectural Wood Products is seeking an experienced Wood Coating & Finishing Technician to help produce high-quality architectural wood doors for the commercial sector. - Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor spraying and coating equipment used to apply stains, sealers, primers, lacquers, and other finishes to wood doors.
- Surface Preparation & Finishing: Prepare wood surfaces for finishing and mix coatings to achieve required colors, finishes, and specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products to ensure coatings meet quality standards and customer specifications. Monitor production processes to prevent defects.
- Material Handling: Load materials into production equipment and use hoists or other lifting devices to move products safely through the finishing process.
- Equipment Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean production equipment, work areas, and tools while adhering to company safety and housekeeping standards. Requirements Key Skills & Capabilities
- Finishing Equipment Expertise: Ability to set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot spray, and finishing equipment.
- Quality Control: Experience conducting inspections and verifying product quality throughout the finishing process.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on finish quality, specifications, and consistency.
- Communication & Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a production environment.
- Manual Dexterity & Coordination: Strong hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and control precision when operating equipment and handling finished products. What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, finishing, coating, woodworking, or related operations, including proficiency with industry-standard tools, equipment, and processes.
- Dependable & Responsible: Punctual, ethical, and committed to doing high-quality work.
- Adaptable: Comfortable adjusting to changing tasks, production demands, and work priorities.
- Safety-Minded: Dedicated to upholding rigorous safety and housekeeping standards.
- Education/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to operate equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Strong manual dexterity, finger dexterity, motor control, and visual accuracy at close distances. Compensation & Benefits
