Position Title: Project Manager Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Project Manager II Job Duties: The Project Manager provides project coordination and administrative support to the Chief of Staff and Chancellor’s Office, helping advance high-priority institutional initiatives and executive priorities. This position coordinates projects from planning through completion, develops timelines and tracks deliverables, monitors decisions and follow-up actions, and helps ensure effective communication and accountability across university leaders, governance groups, community partners, and other stakeholders. This position also provides high-level administrative and event support, including preparing agendas, presentations, correspondence, reports, and meeting materials; coordinating schedules and meetings; and maintaining organized project and institutional records. The Project Manager coordinates CALCI Advisory Board meetings, communications, materials, events, and logistics and supports Executive Council, University Cabinet, strategic-plan initiatives, executive searches, major university events, and special assignments. The position regularly works with sensitive and confidential information and exercises discretion in handling institutional matters. Hybrid remote work may be available after the successful completion of the initial training period. - Health plans, currently starting at $45 per month.
- 176 hours of vacation per year (prorated for start date).

- Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues
- Manages the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
- Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and collaborates with project staff to meet project targets and milestones
- Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met
- Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team Department: Executive Affairs and Chief of Staff Compensation: Starting at $68,500 and commensurate with experience Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Professional experience in project management, executive support, administrative operations, or a related area.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience preparing professional correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders, as evidenced through professional, academic, volunteer, or other relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaborative technolog y. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education, government, a nonprofit organization, or another complex organization.
- Experience supporting an executive office, governing board, advisory board, or senior leadership team.
- Experience coordinating institution-wide projects, executive meetings, or major events.
- Knowledge of project-management methods and tools.
- Project-management certification or related professional development.
