Veterinary Assistant - Cornelius Veterinary Clinic

Cornelius Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Experienced Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our small-animal team. We primarily care for dogs and cats, with occasional care for rabbits, ferrets, and other small mammals. What You’ll Do:

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and patient care
• Restrain and safely handle patients
• Obtain and record patient vital signs
• Assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, and basic procedures
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical monitoring and recovery
• Provide nursing care, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and monitoring hospitalized patients
• Assist with client communication, patient check-in/check-out, and medication instructions
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces
• Follow OSHA, safety, sanitation, and patient-care protocols What We’re Looking For:
• High school diploma or equivalent, or currently pursuing one
• Previous veterinary experience is preferred but not required
• Strong animal-handling and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance as needed
