Profession (Job Category): Customer Service & Contact Center Operations Job Schedule: Full time Remote: Yes Job Description: The Opportunity Join Hitachi Energy as a Supply Chain Engineering Specialist and play a key role in bridging engineering, supply chain, and new product development activities. In this position, you will support the successful introduction of innovative products by ensuring the availability of high-quality prototype materials, developing strong supplier partnerships, and driving effective supply chain execution throughout the product development lifecycle. Working closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams, you will contribute to the development of next-generation energy solutions while strengthening supplier capabilities and optimizing supply chain performance. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise, project coordination, and supplier management in a dynamic and international environment. How You Will Make an Impact
- Act as the Supply Chain representative within new product development projects, ensuring alignment between engineering and supply chain objectives
- Drive supplier selection, qualification, and development activities for prototype and production components
- Manage sourcing and procurement of prototype materials, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with suppliers and project teams to resolve technical, quality, and supply challenges throughout the development process
- Lead SCM-related project activities, including material planning, cost tracking, PPAP coordination, and documentation management
- Coordinate logistics, inventory, and forecasting activities to support prototype and development programs
- Partner with global category managers, manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders to leverage the best supplier network
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supplier performance, product quality, and supply chain efficiency Your Background
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, or new product development environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, forging, welding, and surface treatment
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and familiarity with quality methodologies such as PPAP and Lean Six Sigma
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project coordination skills
