And beyond. ⭐ The Engineering team ⭐ In our engineering team, we build the infrastructure, interfaces, and applications to provide first-class service to our members, health professionals, and even ourselves! By applying to this role, you’ll be considered for three different areas. Throughout the hiring process, we’ll discuss your experience, strengths, and interests, alongside our current hiring needs, to determine which area would be the best fit for you and where you could have the greatest impact. We’ll share this with you before the final stage of the process.

• Claims Management : We refund €350M+ in healthcare expenses every year to 1M+ members across France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada. Our mission is to pay each member the right amount, as quickly as possible, while staying cost-effective for Alan. We have built the entire claims chain in-house, from LLM-powered parsing of 2.5M documents per year and a global coverage engine that determines how much each member should receive, to payment infrastructure, fraud prevention , and the member experience across mobile and web . You’ll work on deep systems that must be reliable 24/7 and operate at scale, where every improvement has a direct impact on a member’s bank account.
• Insurance Offer : We build the infrastructure that protects 1M+ people across four countries. Our mission is to make insurance simpler, more scalable, and more effective for our members and customers. You’ll work on real-time pricing, AI-powered tools that empower Sales, and Alan’s next-generation global insurance stack. More information here and here .
• Customer Enablement : We run the engine behind every company that joins Alan. We bill 40K+ companies across four countries, affiliate their employees, and keep payroll and employment data accurate for 1M+ members. Our mission is to build the shared infrastructure that enables other Alan services to operate reliably and efficiently. You’ll work on a multi-country billing and invoicing platform, affiliation and employment systems that determine who is covered and from when, reconciliation tooling that identifies coverage and billing mismatches, and the APIs used by other teams to build their services. These are systems where correctness is non-negotiable: a wrong invoice or a missed affiliation can be visible to a company within the same week. ⭐ Is it you we’re looking for? We are looking for engineers with 3+ years of experience to help us scale our Engineering community from different perspectives (product, tech, and internal organization-wise):
• You’ll be able to tackle high-impact & high-risk projects involving many engineers.
• You’ll design efficient systems and engineering practices to align with and facilitate interactions between multiple teams/products.
• You’ll have the opportunity to mentor other engineers & lead crews (more details in this article ).
• You’ll be able to contribute to hiring your future coworkers and shape candidates’ hiring experience (improving our technical assessment process etc...) You would be a good fit at Alan if most of this sounds like you:
• Well-versed in Object Oriented Programming such as Python, Java, C#, and enthusiastic about web technologies such as modern Javascript.
• Willing to work in Python/JavaScript (but you don’t need to have experience with those 2 languages!).
• Passionate about building products.
• Self-starting and entrepreneurial.
• Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!).
• Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.
• Fluent in English (no need to speak French!). For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the C-F level range.
