ALPHA - Business Analyst- Assistant Vice President

Who we are looking for An experienced Security Master Data Analyst to support Global Alpha client implementations and middle-office onboarding. The successful candidate will combine Security Master subject matter expertise, business analysis, and project management office discipline to translate client requirements and source data into clear mapping, transformation, validation, testing, and implementation outcomes. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills across global business and technology teams. The SMF Analyst helps connect client requirements, source data, target solutions, testing, governance, and conversion execution so that downstream platforms and operational teams are prepared for go-live and transition to business as usual. • As SMF Analyst, Assistant Vice President, you will:
• Analyze client Security Master requirements, operating models, security populations, and source data structures.
• Lead requirement-gathering sessions and document business, functional, data, control, and non-functional requirements.
• Define source-to-target mapping, transformation, enrichment, defaulting, exception-handling, and validation requirements.
• Develop and review mapping specifications that describe Security Master and reference data flows from client legacy systems to target applications.
• Support end-to-end solution design and partner with Product and Technology SMEs to clarify target data models, system functionality, integrations, and operational controls.
• Analyze data quality, completeness, referential integrity, tolerances, classifications, and consistency across systems.
• Support test strategy, scenario development, data preparation, readiness assessments, reconciliation, defect analysis, and entry and exit criteria.
• Investigate data and process issues, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate remediation, and document decisions and outcomes.
• Partner with Implementation, Conversion, Product, Technology, Operations, testing teams, and clients to document requirements, test evidence, defects, resolutions, and implementation outcomes.
• Coordinate Security Master support for dry runs, dress rehearsals, cutover, go-live, and post-production stabilization, including occasional weekend or off-hours activity.
• Build and maintain integrated work plans, milestone schedules, deliverable trackers, RAID logs, decision logs, dependency registers, and action-item trackers.
• Monitor progress against milestones, identify scope or schedule variance, and drive timely escalation and recovery actions.
• Prepare status reporting covering accomplishments, upcoming activities, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and leadership support required.
• Facilitate working sessions, governance meetings, readiness reviews, and checkpoint calls; publish agendas, minutes, actions, owners, and due dates.
• Maintain complete, current, and audit-ready project documentation in approved repositories.
• Support scope, change, resource, and cross-workstream dependency management while reinforcing agreed governance standards.
• Serve as a client-facing Security Master contact for requirements, solutioning, issue management, readiness, and delivery activities.
• Support transition to business as usual through knowledge transfer, operating procedures, open-item tracking, and stabilization reporting.
• During normal day-to-day operations, identify unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report or escalate it in accordance with corporate policy and relevant operating procedures.

• Strong knowledge of capital markets, Security Master and reference data, financial instruments, and middle-office processes; familiarity with IBOR and ABOR concepts is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze source data, define mappings and transformations, establish validation rules, and investigate data issues.
• Strong business analysis skills, including elicitation, process analysis, requirements documentation, traceability, and stakeholder validation.
• Practical PMO capabilities, including planning, milestone tracking, RAID management, governance reporting, meeting facilitation, and documentation control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions and communicate complex data topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work across global teams and time zones, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to proactively identify risks, dependencies, and delivery gaps and drive timely resolution or escalation.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint; experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, or comparable tools.
• Working understanding of databases, data warehouses, SQL, reconciliation techniques, and data quality controls. Education & Preferred Qualifications
• BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 5 to 7 of relevant financial services experience, preferably in Security Master, reference data, middle office, client onboarding, implementation, conversion, or business analysis.
• Experience supporting complex, cross-functional programs with formal project governance and reporting responsibilities.
• A master’s degree or relevant business analysis, project management, data management, or Agile certification is a plus, but not required. Occasional travel for client or global team onsite engagements may be required. About State Street What we do.
