The Role
We are looking for a highly driven Senior Sales Manager to accelerate Temenos' growth across Australia. Despite the title, this is an individual contributor role focused on business development, market creation, and opportunity generation. Success in this position will be measured by your ability to build executive relationships, generate qualified pipeline, uncover new opportunities, and create demand for Temenos' banking technology portfolio. This role is ideal for a hunter who enjoys opening doors, engaging senior banking executives, identifying transformation initiatives, and shaping opportunities long before formal procurement processes begin. You will work closely with Sales Executives, Pre-Sales, Marketing, Partners, and Product teams to convert market interest into qualified opportunities and future revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a territory growth strategy focused on Australian banks, lenders, mutuals, digital banks, and financial services organisations.
- Generate qualified pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, industry engagement, executive outreach, referrals, and partner collaboration.
- Develop trusted relationships with C-level executives and senior business leaders across target accounts.
- Identify banking transformation initiatives, strategic priorities, and technology investment plans within prospective customers.
- Create and nurture opportunities across Temenos' core banking, digital banking, payments, lending, SaaS, and cloud offerings.
- Partner closely with Account Executives and Solution Consultants to progress opportunities through the sales cycle.
- Engage strategic consulting and technology partners to develop joint go-to-market opportunities.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity management within Salesforce.
- Represent Temenos at industry events, conferences, banking forums, and customer networking activities.
- Deliver market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to regional leadership.
- Consistently exceed pipeline generation and business development objectives. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven success in enterprise software or technology sales within banking, financial services, fintech, or SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated ability to create opportunities from scratch and build pipeline in complex B2B environments.
- Experience engaging senior decision-makers including CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, COOs, Heads of Digital, Heads of Technology, and business-line executives.
- Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
- Experience navigating long and complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to identify business value and strategic outcomes for customers.
- Strong understanding of banking industry trends, digital transformation, cloud adoption, and modernisation initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills.
- Experience working with channel partners, consulting firms, and ecosystem alliances is advantageous.
