Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in Benedictine tradition, is seeking a full-time, 11-month (June off) Prevention Education Specialist. The Prevention Education Specialist develops and implements campus-wide violence prevention education while serving as one of the College's designated Confidential Resource Advisors (CRA) for students impacted by sexual misconduct, relationship violence, domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. Rooted in Saint Anselm College's Benedictine tradition, this position promotes a campus culture of hospitality, community, respect for the inherent dignity of every person, and care for the common good through evidence-informed prevention initiatives, outreach, and education. As one of the College's designated Confidential Resource Advisors, the Prevention Education Specialist provides confidential support, information, safety planning, and referrals, but does not conduct investigations or participate in disciplinary decision-making. The position reports to the Director of Operations at The Harbor, the violence prevention office within Saint Anselm College Health Services, and collaborates with Student Affairs, Title IX, Athletics, Residence Life, Campus Safety, Counseling, faculty, staff, and community partners. This position is supported by grant funding and is subject to the continued availability of funding. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prevention Education
- Develop, implement, and evaluate campus-wide violence prevention programs that foster respect, inclusion, belonging, and personal responsibility.
- Facilitate workshops on consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, sexual violence, dating and domestic violence, stalking, trauma-informed practices, and related topics.
- Coordinate awareness campaigns and outreach events that strengthen community and promote student well-being.
- Recruit and support peer educators and student leaders.
- Assess program effectiveness and maintain participation data. Confidential Resource Services
- Serve as one of the College's designated Confidential Resource Advisor for students affected by interpersonal violence.
- Provide trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, safety planning, and resource referrals in a manner that honors each individual's dignity, autonomy, and lived experience.
- Explain reporting options, supportive measures, institutional processes, and community resources while respecting student choice.
- Accompany students to meetings or appointments, as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with New Hampshire law and institutional policy. Collaboration & Compliance
- Build collaborative relationships across campus and with community partners to advance a coordinated, compassionate response to interpersonal violence.
- Support compliance with the Clery Act, VAWA, Title IX education requirements, and applicable New Hampshire laws.
- Assist with grant-funded initiatives, assessment, and reporting. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, public health, criminal justice, education, or a related field.
- Two years of experience in prevention education, higher education, victim services, counseling, public health, or a related field.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and interpersonal violence prevention.
- Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, VAWA, and New Hampshire Confidential Resource Advisor laws.
- Experience with grant-funded programs and program evaluation. Successful candidates will be able to assist the college in advancing its Catholic identity and strategic priorities, which include institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness.
