We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Facilities Assistant to help keep our buildings clean, safe, organized, and running smoothly. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of our two locations while also assisting with general maintenance needs. Merrick, Inc. Offers:

  • 3:00 pm set schedule.

  • A great work environment. Facilities Assistant Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum offices, hallways, breakrooms, meeting rooms, and work areas.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces, windows, doors, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Empty waste and recycling and ensure materials are disposed of appropriately.
  • Restock soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and help receive, stock, and distribute supplies between locations.
  • Assist with maintaining outdoor areas and picking up debris.
  • Move office furniture and equipment within and between buildings as needed.
  • Assist with general maintenance projects at both Merrick locations.
  • Communicate with outside vendors as needed.
  • Safely use cleaning products and equipment and follow applicable safety procedures. Facilities Assistant Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • 6–12 months of janitorial, custodial, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of cleaning and maintenance needs.
  • Basic ability to use electronic devices, databases, and internet-based applications.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and pushing or pulling equipment and materials.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening following a conditional job offer.
