When a pet parent walks through our doors, you may be the first person they meet—and the person who helps them feel that they and their pet are in the right place. As a Client Service Representative (CSR) at 1st Pet Veterinary Centers North Valley, you'll combine excellent customer service with meaningful work. You'll help pet parents through many different moments in their pet's life—from routine visits to emergencies and difficult end-of-life decisions. You'll work closely with our veterinary team to make sure clients feel welcomed, informed, and cared for throughout their experience with us.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome clients and their pets with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Answer incoming calls, gather important information, and help clients determine the appropriate next step for their pet.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate client visits.
  • Check clients in and out, process payments, and communicate clearly about invoices and hospital procedures.
  • Keep clients informed about appointments, wait times, and next steps while coordinating with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and fellow CSRs.
  • Support worried, frustrated, or grieving pet parents with patience and compassion, including families experiencing emergencies, end-of-life care, and euthanasia.
  • Manage phones, clients, appointments, payments, and changing priorities in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.
  • Learn and use veterinary terminology, hospital procedures, and multiple software systems to help our clients and medical team. WHY 1ST PET? Who We're Looking for

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and can remain calm, compassionate, and professional in a busy veterinary environment. You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Can stay calm and professional when helping worried, frustrated, emotional, or grieving clients.
  • Are comfortable with the realities of veterinary medicine, including emergencies, serious illness, end-of-life care, and euthanasia.
  • Can prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Are comfortable using computers and learning multiple software systems.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone.
  • Are dependable, collaborative, and willing to support your teammates.
  • Are comfortable working around dogs and cats in a veterinary hospital environment.
  • Are available to work a full-time swing/evening schedule, typically 3:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. EXPERIENCE Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but not required. Strong customer-service experience from veterinary medicine, healthcare, hospitality, reception, retail, call centers, or other fast-paced service environments can translate well to this role. Experience with scheduling, multi-line phones, payment processing, or customer-management software is also helpful.
