Logistics & Supply Chain Manager - Overseas

Role Overview of our Logistics & Supply Chain Manager You as our Logistics & Supply Chain Manager will ideally be based in the Middle East. This is an extremely hands-on role, where you will deploy for extended periods to programme locations and you will be expected to operate at two levels simultaneously: strategically, with senior client, supplier, and internal programme stakeholders; and practically, undertaking warehouse, inventory, customs, and transportation activity directly where local resource, infrastructure, or programme urgency requires it. This is deliberately not an office-based management role. The role exists to protect programme schedule and cost by ensuring that materiel, equipment, and consumables move reliably from UK/third-country origin through to site, that in-country inventory and supplier arrangements are controlled and auditable, and that customs, trade compliance, and local regulatory obligations are met without introducing programme, commercial, or reputational risk to SRT . Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and onboard local and regional suppliers, in line with SRT 's supplier approval and due-diligence process
• Negotiate commercial terms, lead times, and service levels with in-country suppliers, transport providers, and customs agents
• Manage ongoing supplier performance, including delivery reliability, quality, and commercial compliance
• Escalate supplier risk (financial, delivery, compliance) to the Head of Systems Procurement with supporting evidence Warehouse & Inventory Management
• Own in-country warehouse operations, including goods-in, storage, stock control, and goods-out processes
• Conduct and reconcile stocktakes; implement corrective inventory controls where discrepancies arise, whilst maintaining inventory accuracy within the ERP/IMS systems used by the programme Logistics & Transportation
• Plan and execute inbound and in-country transportation, including route, mode, and provider selection for freight of varying sensitivity and value
• Resolve transportation disruptions (border delays, infrastructure failures, security incidents) and maintain programme continuity, along with coordinating freight forwarding activity with UK-based logistics and international shipping colleagues Trade Compliance, Import/Export & Customs
• Manage import/export documentation and customs clearance for equipment moving in and out of the programme country
• Maintain auditable records of customs and compliance activity to support SRT 's regulatory obligations Process, Controls & Systems
• Develop and implement local supply chain processes, controls, and documentation consistent with SRT 's Equipment Handling Reference Standard and requirement-to-PO process Programme & Financial Support
• Provide supply chain leadership and support to Programme/Project Directors/Managers, including mobilisation support for new international programmes
• Manage local budgets, cost forecasting, and financial control for in-country logistics activity, reporting into UK finance and programme cost structures
• Produce MI reporting and KPI data for programme and procurement leadership Accountabilities The post-holder is accountable for outcomes, not just activity. Specifically, the post-holder is accountable for:
• The integrity and auditability of in-country inventory records and physical stock
• On-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery of materiel to programme site, within approved cost
• Compliance of all in-country procurement, customs, and export/import activity with UK law, destination-market law, and SRT policy
• Accuracy and timeliness of MI reporting relating to in-country supply chain activity. ESSENTIAL Requirements & Experience
• Logistics & Supply Chain Manager
• not exhaustive:
• Evidence of professional competence in supply chain, logistics, or procurement, whether via formal qualification, military logistics trade training, or an equivalent verifiable track record
• Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations in an international, and preferably developing-market or austere, environment
• Direct experience of warehouse and inventory management, including stocktaking and inventory control implementation
• Practical experience of import/export, customs clearance, and trade compliance processes in more than one jurisdiction
• Supplier identification, negotiation, and performance management experience. Experience operating with minimal on-site management supervision, reporting remotely to a UK/HQ-based line manager Benefits
