Summary This position is in the Facilities Management Service, Maintenance Department, of the Columbia,

Mo Va.

The incumbent is under the supervision of the HVAC/R Supervisor and assists in the maintenance and repair of various components throughout the facility. Performs work at an intermediate level to develop skills and knowledge in performing a variety of duties concerned with the installation, trouble shooting, repair, overhauling and modification of special purpose HVAC/R units and systems. Duties Your duties can include but are not limited to the following: Operates a central refrigeration and air conditioning plant, including cooling towers, condenser water pumps, chilled water pumps (in the main plant and throughout the system), and air handling units in all areas of the buildings Operates a modem-integrated computerized energy management center Operates multiple unfired steam generators to provide humidification to critical patient care, and medical storage areas throughout the hospital Maintains salt levels and conducts testing all hospital water softener equipment. Makes adjustments as necessary to water level, and pressure controls Operates 2, 1250 KW and 2-3 MW emergency power diesel generators Performs preventative maintenance (PM) on related equipment, following manufacturers and/or VA recommendations Performs other related duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position.
