Job Description: ITW Performance Polymers

  • Industrial Engineering Co-Op Clearwater,

Fl. Itw

Performance Polymers is seeking an Engineering Co-Op to join the Engineering team at our Clearwater, Florida facility. The Engineering Co-Op will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing procedures, with a primary focus on creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related manufacturing documentation. To effectively perform this work, the Co-Op will spend significant time on the production floor observing operations, collecting process data, understanding equipment and operator practices, and identifying process and safety risks. These observations will be translated into clear, effective, and compliant procedures that support safe and efficient manufacturing operations. The Co-Op will also assist with documentation updates associated with process improvements and operational changes while collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and R&D teams. This co-op offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on manufacturing engineering experience and exposure to batch manufacturing processes used to produce high-performance polymer and adhesive products. Unlike a traditional office-based position, up to 50% of the workday will be spent on the production floor supporting plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives. Through day-to-day plant support, mentorship from experienced engineers, and an independent capstone project, the Co-Op will develop practical skills in technical writing, process optimization, troubleshooting, project management, and process safety while gaining valuable experience within a market-leading Fortune 300 manufacturing organization. Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; desire to work in a “hands-on” environment
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to assess the feasibility of engineering designs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting. Compensation Information: The target compensation for this role is $24.00 to $29.00/hour. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.
