Position Overview: The Loan Officer Assistant provides operational, administrative, and client support to ensure a seamless mortgage experience for borrowers while enhancing the efficiency of the branch. This role serves as a key partner to the Sales Manager by managing loan file activities, borrower communications, documentation collection, and pipeline coordination. By handling day-to-day transaction management and support functions, the Loan Officer Assistant creates additional capacity for the Sales Manager to focus on business development, referral partner relationships, complex loan structuring, and revenue-generating activities that drive the growth and success of the team. Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the loan process, delivering a high-quality client experience.
  • Prepare and provide loan estimates and other required disclosures accurately and timely.
  • Collect, review, and organize borrower documentation to ensure complete and compliant loan files.
  • Analyze borrower financial information, including income, assets, credit, and liabilities, to support loan qualification and structuring.
  • Monitor pipeline milestones and loan status to ensure transactions progress efficiently from application through closing.
  • Proactively communicate with borrowers, referral partners, and internal teams regarding outstanding items and next steps.
  • Respond to borrower and operations team inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Coordinate closely with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to resolve conditions and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate loan data and documentation within Encompass and other company systems.
  • Identify and address routine issues or obstacles that may impact loan closing timelines.
  • Support branch activities designed to enhance client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and loan production.
  • Assist with relationship management by providing exceptional service to borrowers and referral partners.
  • Create additional capacity for the Sales Manager by managing administrative, documentation, and communication responsibilities.
  • Enable the Sales Manager to focus on business development, referral partner growth, complex loan structuring, and revenue-generating activities. Qualifications and Skills:
  • Active Colorado Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license.
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending processes, compliance requirements, and loan documentation.
  • Experience with loan origination systems, Encompass preferred.
  • Experience preparing loan estimates and mortgage disclosures.
  • Skill in analyzing borrower income, assets, credit, and financial documentation.
  • Effective communication skills with borrowers and internal teams.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume lending environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering an exceptional borrower experience.
  • Willingness to work onsite at the branch Monday through Thursday during standard Mountain Time business hours.
