Summary The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Installation Equipment Accountability Officer (Inventory Management Specialist) for the United States Air Force Academy. Duties Conducts extensive inspections/inventories of units' supply accounts to determine if supply accounts across the command are properly administered. Prepares recurring and special reports. Program functions. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions, General Supply Series 2001 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of supply program relationships and in-depth knowledge of equipment management and inventory management. Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of equipment management and inventory management programs and/or operations to include principals, concepts, and methodologies, governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions and an intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for urgent, critical, shortage, and other special items. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. Requirement for General Schedule
(GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. Skills and Abilities
(KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: In-depth knowledge of governing supply regulations, functions, procedures, instructions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. Ability to develop, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, technical orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
