  • 403(b) Retirement with Employer Match POSITION PURPOSE: The Pharmacy Technician will perform many pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and perform administrative functions of the department that do not require professional judgment and extensive technical training. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Accurately and effectively prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist.
  • Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
  • Accurately and effectively orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security in accordance with department policy and procedure.
  • Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
  • Accurately and effectively enters data into the computer system, records prescriptions, purchases orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
  • Under direction of the Pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal.
  • Performs general clerical duties for the department.
  • Follows all Aviva Health and department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • State licensing is required with national certification preferred.
  • Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course or a minimum of one year of on-the-job training.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively enter data into an electronic pharmacy record.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize duties, and be organized.
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients and other staff with varied backgrounds and personalities and maintain good relationships.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service under pressure to both patients and other staff. WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to perform the following physical requirements:
  • In-person work during normal clinic hours in a heat-controlled environment.
  • Remain in a stationary position frequently throughout the day while performing technician duties and interacting with patients.
  • Move or traverse occasionally throughout the day in the pharmacy to perform technician duties.
  • Operate equipment frequently throughout the day using a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and accurately so others will understand; ability to interact with patients and staff clearly.
  • Able to move or transport up to 15 pounds while using equipment or performing administrative and technician functions.
  • OSHA Exposure Category – Category #2: The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
