Department: HBB | Administration Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Clinical Integration Specialist (CIS), located at UAMS Health Benton/Bryant, is a licensed nurse who functions within the three spheres of influence: patient, nurse, and system, and must possess advanced knowledge of nursing practice and the ability to apply standards within the ambulatory practice areas. The CIS functions independently to provide theory and evidence-based knowledge that shapes the practice and core competencies of the nursing staff. The CIS provides area leadership in collaboration with the administrative leaders focusing on orientation, professional development, skills/competency validation, evidence-based practice, shared governance, regulatory compliance, nurse-sensitive quality indicators, and performance improvement. The CIS collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and functions in the healthcare system as a leader, consultant, and change agent and, therefore, must possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. The Clinical Integration Specialist is responsible for working independently and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to identify clinical problems, prioritize needs, develop, and implement interventions, and evaluate the process. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
  • BSN, Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Education, special or professional: National Certification or the ability to test within one year of hire.
  • Four (4) years of clinical experience with two (2) years in specialty area and two (2) years in a leadership role.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas.
  • Current BLS by date of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Project management or knowledge of Quality Improvement/Process Improvement processes.
  • Experience in an academic medical setting. Special knowledge, abilities and skills:
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate with others effectively.
  • Ability to document services provided.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance organizations/agencies.
  • Preferred applicants are knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
