Dematic is seeking a talented Mechanical Installation Foreman to support conveyor system installations across customer sites in the continental United States. This role is responsible for executing mechanical installation work, leading small teams, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on site. The position plays a critical role in project success by maintaining strong communication with site leadership, proactively identifying issues, and keeping work aligned with project objectives. This position offers opportunities for leadership growth and expanded responsibility within field operations and project management pathways. We offer:
- Lead and oversee daily activities of 1–3 mechanical installers, providing direction, training, and support
- Participate in and, when needed, lead daily stand-up meetings and coordinate work plans
- Execute mechanical installation tasks including:
- Conveyor systems and components
- Structural/header steel installation
- Platforms, guardrails, and rack systems
- Air piping (aluminum, copper, black iron)
- Support equipment run-in, startup, and troubleshooting
- Work independently to complete stand-alone tasks as assigned by site leadership
- Promote a strong safety culture by driving:
- BBSO (Behavior-Based Safety Observations)
- JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
- Jobsite safety meetings and compliance
- Ensure excellent housekeeping and organization at job sites
- Perform quality audits to ensure installations meet standards and specifications
- Provide daily site status updates to Project Managers and Site Managers
- Identify problems as they arise and proactively recommend solutions
- Write clear, concise trip reports and maintain job documentation
- May lead operations on alternate shifts when supervisors are not present
- Strong safety leadership and situational awareness
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and layouts
- Effective team leadership and coaching skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Clear and professional communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, reporting tools)
- Hands-on experience in mechanical installation of conveyor systems
- Experience with: Structural steel erection and platform installation, Equipment layout and pre-assembly, Industrial piping systems
- Experience leading small teams or providing on-site direction to others
- Proven ability to identify and resolve field issues in real time
- Experience working in fast-paced construction or industrial environments
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Technical degree or specialized training (preferred)
- OSHA safety training (preferred)
- Equivalent field experience may be substituted for formal education Tasks and Qualifications:
- Must be willing to travel 90% within the continental United States
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
- Ability to push, pull, squat, crawl, and walk across large construction sites
- Must be able to work in various climates and environments
- Demonstrates commitment to OSHA and company safety standards
