About Us: Juken New Zealand Ltd (JNL) is an international forest and wood products company operating in local and global timber markets. JNL owns wood processing plants in the North Island, and forests in the East Coast and Wairarapa regions. We work closely with our parent company in Japan – WoodOne. The role: We are seeking an ambitious and commercially savvy sales professional to join our team and help drive the next phase of growth across the Lower North Island. We are looking for someone who can build long-term customer partnerships, identify new market opportunities, grow demand for our engineered wood products, and work strategically with both customers and internal teams to deliver sustainable business growth. This is a full time position with a minimum of 40 hours work available per week, Monday
- Friday with occasional weekend work. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow key customer accounts across the territory.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.
- Promote JNL's engineered wood products, particularly J-Frame and LVL solutions.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders.
- Provide technical product advice and support.
- Monitor market trends, customer demand, and competitive activity.
- Negotiate commercial agreements while maintaining profitable margins.
- Represent JNL at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Proven success in technical sales, business development, or key account management.
- Experience within the building products, timber, construction, or related industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of pricing, margin management, and profitability.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- The ability to identify market opportunities and convert them into business growth.
- A proactive approach and the drive to contribute fresh ideas and capability to our sales team. What's on Offer
