Economic Crime Intelligence Technical Specialist Role Summary:
- Prevent, disrupt and respond to trends in the fraud, scam and economic crime ecosystem.
- Contribute to process improvement and enhanced fraud, scam and economic crime detection/disruption.
- Collaborate with team members for best disruption methods and practices.
- Bring a curious, self-driven mindset and a genuine willingness to learn, experiment and develop new skills. Responsibilities:
- Identify emerging criminal methodologies and trends and contribute to disruption opportunities and research.
- Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency through automation, data analysis and process optimisation, leveraging technical skills or a willingness to develop them.
- Build knowledge on fraud, scam, and economic crime processes, use OSINT tools, and apply analysis and documentation techniques to manage the organisations and our Customer’s exposure to threats.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for continual improvement in intelligence exfiltration and monitoring of fraud and scam infrastructure.
- Explore new tools, technologies and analytical techniques and learn how they can be applied to fraud and scam disruption.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand priorities and foster a problem-solving mindset. Support project delivery and clearly present complex technical concepts to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
- Exercise sensitivity in handling complex issues which ensuring privacy, customer and data protections, relevant laws are adhered to.
- Take ownership of your development by actively seeking opportunities to learn, build technical capability and broaden your intelligence and investigative skills.
- Share learnings and contribute positively to team knowledge and capability. Skills and Experience:
- Basic technical capability (for example, coding, scripting, data analytics or automation tools) or a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply these skills to improve team processes and outcomes.
- An interest in understanding social engineering techniques and emerging fraud, scam and cyber-enabled crime trends.
- A strong self-development mindset, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, analytical techniques and intelligence methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at various levels within the organisation as well as the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet concurrent deadlines.
- Comfort with trying new approaches, asking questions and learning through experimentation.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from and share knowledge with others.
