Field Coordinator - Assam Flood Relief 2026 Project (Contractual)

• November 2026 Job Overview: United Way Mumbai's Assam Flood Relief 2026 Project aims to provide immediate and mid-term relief to flood-affected families in Sivasagar, Charaideo, and Jorhat districts of Assam. The project involves carrying out needs assessments of flood-affected families, engaging local authorities and community experts in rehabilitation efforts, distributing education, hygiene, kitchen, water filter, bedding, and infant & mother kits among affected families, and assessing evolving needs for mid-term and long-term restoration. Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee and report the distribution of relief kits by NGO partners, ensuring adherence to the planned schedule.
• Participate in and document meetings organized by NGO partners with local authorities and community members.
• Carry out random quality checks of procured materials, including quality, quantity, and expiry where applicable, and verify assembled kits for agreed quantity and quality of materials.
• Monitor processes followed by NGO partners for relief distribution, including needs assessment, identification of families, relief distribution camps, and related activities.
• Ensure proper documentation of families supported, photo consent forms, branding displays, kit contents, and other required records.
• Report the distribution of relief kits through visual documentation and facilitate adherence to the branding guidelines of United Way Mumbai, local authorities, donors, and NGO partners.
• Liaise, communicate, and manage partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, private-sector expert agencies, NGOs, citizen groups, and other civil society organizations.
• Develop strong connections with communities to understand their needs, concerns, and aspirations, and act as a bridge between the community and the organization to build collaboration and trust.
• Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the project’s objectives and guide the project team and partners accordingly.
• Gather formal and informal feedback from community members and panchayat representatives on kit contents, distribution processes, and other project activities. Profile Requisites:
• Graduate or post-graduate in Social Science or Disaster Management preferred.
• Minimum 4–5 years of work experience; experience working with NGOs will be an added advantage.
• A dynamic and versatile individual with the ability to connect and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Assamese, English, and Hindi, with strong community outreach and mobilisation skills.
• Willing and able to travel extensively within Jorhat, Sivasagar, and other project districts in Assam, and work effectively as a strong team player. Remuneration: Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit; the consultancy fees range is upto INR 50,000 per month.
