Summary You will serve as a

Resource Coordinator

(SERVICE GROUP) in the Service Shop (990), Production Resources Department Manager (901), Production Resources Department (900), of

Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Duties

  • You will be directly responsible for the movement of personnel between projects and ensuring the proper mix personnel is available to perform the tasks required.
  • You will advise on the selection of personnel for off-yard travel by evaluating their places on the Volunteer Travel List, qualifications, training, and skill level.
  • You will provide analytical support to a variety of entities as assigned or in conjunction with senior level management within his/her organization.
  • You will convey written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • You will prepare all paperwork for sending nuclear and non-nuclear personnel TDY (temporary Duty).
  • You will request/cancel medical appointments, training, and other event that impact the employee's ability to be assigned as projects and internal shops available resources. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying technical knowledge as it relates to principles, concepts, and practices concerning shipyard work operations, control system requirements, trade and shop practices, and the development of personnel in service shops or similar. Experience with project management applying principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects and resources, including technical performance. Experience investigating and analyzing practices, identifying specific problems and evaluating lessons learned from projects, existing working instructions from past projects, and new methods of work breakdown, while applying analytical and problem solving skills. Experience influencing, motivating, and persuading production shop and department supervisor personnel and others in positions of decisions making authority to follow different courses of action.
