Job Purpose Operate CNC machines in a productive and safe manner to produce parts that exceed Graco’s quality standards at the lowest cost in a timely manner while minimizing the waste of materials and resources. What You Will Do
- Set-up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC machines within a department.
- Assist in process development with engineers, quality technicians, and supervisors.
- Provide assistance and training to other operators and may be required to move to other machines if needed.
- Will be involved with and perform pre-production and program prove-outs related to changes in new products and tooling.
- Perform maintenance of machines as required and keep supervision informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator assigned maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Adjust tools and replace as necessary.
- Read and understand layouts, job packets, and blueprints for the parts being run (includes Geometric Tolerancing).
- Provide accurate inventory counts at all times and keep parts in appropriate parts storage areas.
- Collect and use SPC data, which may involve the use of comparator, CMM, Trimos, gages, and related test instruments.
- Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required.
- Follow set-up procedures and recommend improvements.
- Recognize problem processes and/or an unsafe set-up and recommend alternatives.
- Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring to Graco
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology or a CNC Machining program
- Requires a minimum of 4.5+ years of CNC machine tool operation (milling for milling openings, turning for turning openings).
- Must have strong PC skills and the ability to work with Microsoft products.
- SPC Theory, SPC Software, or equivalent trade school education for these specific classes. Accelerators
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand CNC programs and operational layouts as required.
- Proven understanding of tooling requirements to set up and operate machines in the departments, including pre-setting of tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a sequence of operations and consistently maintain the performance level set for quality and productivity.
- Demonstrated skill and use of precision measurements and Graco standards.
- Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or the environment.
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

- In terms of an 8-hour workday, "occasionally" means 1 to 33%, "frequently" means 34 to 66% of the time, and "continuous" means 67 to 100% of the time.
- In an 8-hr workday, must be able to sit 1 hour, stand 3 hours, and walk 4 hrs.
- Position requires frequent bending and stooping, occasional use of fixed or portable stairs, crouching and kneeling and reaching above the shoulder.
- Must occasionally lift and load up to 45 lbs or greater.
- Requires frequent repetitive elbow movements and simple grasping with both hands and occasional firm grasping and fine manipulation with both hands: (lifting, dexterity, coordination, mobility, etc). The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. $40.91 - $44.68
