---- Job Details: General Notes The Clinical Applications Trainer delivers comprehensive training programs for clinical and non-clinical end users across all supported clinical applications, with a particular emphasis on electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role is responsible for developing and facilitating training for providers, clinic staff, administrative departments, pillar stakeholders, and vendors in classroom settings, virtually, and in direct clinical practice environments. The Clinical Applications Trainer assigns applications to users and is accountable for achieving deep understanding of the software, workflows, and procedures relevant to each user group. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Applications and Informatics, this role collaborates closely with clinical informaticists, application analysts, and operational leaders. Responsibilities Develops and Maintains Training Programs

• Designs education programs tailored to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
• Creates training materials including manuals, e-learning modules, and quick reference guides.
• Aligns content with clinical workflows and application functionality.
• Updates materials based on system changes and user feedback.
• Ensures training supports standardization and optimization goals. Delivers Training and Onboarding
• Facilitates classroom, virtual, and in-practice training sessions.
• Provides onboarding training for new hires across departments and roles.
• Offers individual and group training upon request and during onboarding of new clinics or departments.
• Delivers training for software updates and new application features.
• Provides elbow-to-elbow support for clinical staff, non-clinical staff, and physicians. Assigns Applications and Supports User Proficiency
• Determines appropriate applications for each user based on role and workflow.
• Achieves in-depth understanding of each supported application.
• Guides users through role-specific workflows and procedures.
• Monitors user progress and proficiency.
• Manages training requests, access issues, and user questions. Coordinates Training Logistics
• Schedules sessions and manages training environments.
• Coordinates logistics for education events across multiple locations.
• Tracks attendance and completion records.
• Ensures availability of necessary equipment and resources.
• Maintains training documentation and supports administrative functions. Analyzes Training and Workflow Effectiveness
• Reviews organizational activities and data to support planning and process improvement.
• Assesses curriculum effectiveness and contributes to quality improvements.
• Provides feedback to supervisors and stakeholders to support proper build and maintenance of training environments.
• Understands organizational policies, workflows, and business operations for ambulatory practices.
• Aligns training with application functionality and clinical workflows. Consults and Collaborates with Stakeholders
• Collaborates with Clinical Applications & Informatics team, project managers, department leaders, and super users.
• Ensures training content is standardized and aligned with organizational initiatives.
• Leads optimization of clinical workflows through on-site review and in-clinic support.
• Accelerates provider workflows to improve patient satisfaction and clinical quality.
• Supports strategic goals through targeted training and workflow enhancements. Marginal or Periodic Functions
• Participates in go-live support and floor training during system implementations.
• Assists with testing and rollout of new application features and updates.
• Supports training for external partners and vendors.
• Contributes to change management and communication efforts.
• Participates in professional development and credentialing activities.
• Performs related duties as required. Required Qualifications
• Requires an Associate's Degree in Health Informatics, Education, Nursing, or related field with at least 3 year(s) of experience in clinical training, informatics, or healthcare IT.
• Knowledge of data structures and the use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment of multi-specialty clinic operations, ambulatory surgery center, research, and higher education.
• Relevant education or experience may be substituted. Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Instructional Design, Nursing, or related field with at least 3 year(s) of experience in clinical application training or EHR implementation.
• Experience with Epic or similar clinical systems. Licenses, Registrations or Certifications Required:
• None Preferred:
• Epic Credentialed Trainer certification.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
