Summary The Bottling Line Operator is a full-time, entry-level member of the production team responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining bottling and packaging equipment. Day to day, this role loads materials onto the line, inspects finished product for quality, supports changeovers and cleanup, and helps the team meet production goals while keeping the bottling area clean, organized, and safe. No prior bottling or manufacturing experience is required; paid on-the-job training is provided. This role is well suited to someone looking to start a career in wine or packaging who brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, patience, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-growing company with shifting priorities. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. -Operate and monitor bottling and packaging equipment according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) -Load bottles, closures, labels, and other packaging materials onto the bottling line -Inspect bottles and finished product for proper fill level, closure, labeling, and packaging quality; remove and report nonconforming product -Identify and promptly report mechanical issues or abnormalities to the supervisor; perform basic line adjustments and routine equipment checks as trained -Complete line changeovers between product runs and perform line cleanup and sanitation -Track and count packaging material inventory to maintain adequate stock levels -Package, palletize, and move finished product, including safely operating a forklift after completing company-provided training and certification -Follow all company safety, sanitation, quality, and production procedures, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe bottling area -Support cellar operations during harvest season as needed Other Duties -Additional duties as assigned Competencies -Self-Starter, able to work independently most shifts -Attention to detail and commitment to product quality -Safety awareness and adherence to procedures- -Reliability, including consistent attendance and punctuality -Ability to learn new equipment and processes quickly -Clear communication and basic problem-solving -Teamwork in a fast-paced production setting Supervisory Responsibilities -No supervisory responsibilities Requirements Work Environment 9Indoor winery production and bottling facility; seasonal cellar work during harvest may include outdoor and crush-pad areas -Fast-paced production environment with moving machinery, forklift traffic, and moderate to high noise levels -Wet floors and exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals; required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and closed-toe, slip-resistant footwear, is provided or specified by the Company -Full-time schedule; weekly hours fluctuate based on bottling runs and harvest demands, and may include extended shifts, weekends, and overtime Physical Demands -Stand and walk for the majority of the shift -Frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, and use hands for repetitive tasks -Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier loads are moved with equipment or team lifts -Close vision sufficient to inspect fill levels, closures, and labels -Ability to wear required PPE for the full shift Travel and Remote Work -No travel required -This position is on-site and is not eligible for remote work -Travel to and from the main work site (daily commute) is at the expense of the employee and is not considered time worked -Travel between sites during the workday is considered time worked Required Education and Experience -No previous bottling or manufacturing experience required; training will be provided -Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, SOPs, and safety labels Preferred Education and Experience -Mechanical aptitude -Prior experience in bottling, packaging, manufacturing, or food and beverage production -Current forklift operator certification Additional Eligibility Requirements -Must possess a sense of urgency and positivity while being a team player -Must have the ability to multitask and complete duties, tasks, and projects despite interruptions -Must be a self-starter with the ability to complete duties, tasks, and projects with little or no supervision -Must be at least 18 years of age (required for forklift operation and handling of alcoholic beverages) -Must successfully complete company-provided forklift training and certification within the introductory period -Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and overtime as production and harvest schedules require Work Authorization -This job is not eligible for visa sponsorship Equal Employment Opportunity It is the policy of William Chris Wine Company to provide equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
