Description Position Title: STEAM Program Coordinator- PT Reports To: Designated Program Coordinator Category/FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non Exempt Supervises: None Pay Rate: $20/hour

Position Summary: The Part-Time STEAM Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, facilitating, and administering Girls Inc. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs focused on hands-on learning, STEM career exploration, design thinking, engineering challenges, digital literacy, creative problem-solving, innovation, and college and career readiness. This position will primarily support STEAM programming in Arlington , including the coordination and facilitation of STEAM Saturdays , special events, workshops, and other STEAM enrichment opportunities. The Program Coordinator will build and maintain positive relationships with girls, families, volunteers, community partners, and school representatives while creating engaging learning experiences that inspire girls to explore STEAM pathways. Program sessions may take place in schools, community settings, or virtual environments. This position may require participation in occasional evening, weekend, and virtual meetings or trainings. The Program Coordinator serves as a key representative of Girls Inc., helping ensure high-quality program delivery and supporting positive youth development outcomes through hands-on STEAM education. This is a part-time position primarily serving Arlington-area programming, including designated STEAM Saturday sessions and special events throughout the year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Recruitment and Delivery

  • Deliver agency-approved STEAM programs, workshops, and enrichment activities using evidence-based and hands-on learning approaches.
  • Facilitate engaging lessons in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics for girls across multiple age groups.
  • Support planning and implementation of STEAM Saturdays, community events, field trips, competitions, and special initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program staff and community partners to provide girls with exposure to STEAM careers, guest speakers, mentorship opportunities, and experiential learning.
  • Assist in developing and adapting lesson plans, projects, and activities utilizing organizational curriculum and resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between participants, families, volunteers, schools, and community partners to ensure effective communication and program success.
  • Support participant recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts for STEAM programming.
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and encouraging learning environment that supports creativity, exploration, and confidence-building. Data Collection and Reporting
  • Collect and manage attendance, participation data, and program outcomes to meet grant and organizational requirements.
  • Collect, track, and submit all required documentation and reports related to STEAM programming in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with participant evaluations, surveys, and assessments to measure program effectiveness and impact.
  • Maintain accurate program records and support data entry within agency systems. Volunteer and Intern Engagement
  • Support and supervise volunteers, interns, and guest presenters participating in STEAM activities and events.
  • Assist in orienting volunteers and ensuring they understand program goals and expectations.
  • Provide feedback, support, and recognition to volunteers and interns to encourage continued engagement. Related Agency Activities
  • Regularly assess personal performance and establish professional development goals.
  • Attend staff meetings, virtual meetings, and required agency trainings as needed.
  • Participate in STEAM-related professional development opportunities to remain current with emerging trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with staff across programs to support agency initiatives and organizational goals.
  • Participate in all required reporting and deadlines at the organizational level, including those related to expense management, mileage, and grant requirements.
  • Support agency-wide events and community engagement activities as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Some college coursework required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Educational background or professional experience in STEAM-related fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Education, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Experience working with youth programs, facilitating educational activities, lesson planning, and classroom or group management.
  • Experience delivering STEAM education, project-based learning, maker activities, coding, robotics, engineering design, or similar content preferred.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and a passion for empowering youth through hands-on learning experiences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents/guardians, volunteers, community partners, and professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams), and other relevant technology tools.
  • Ability to learn and utilize educational technology platforms, makerspace equipment, and STEAM instructional resources.
  • Possess reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver's license, and a clear driving record.
  • Ability to drive a company van safely and responsibly.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and Saturdays to support STEAM programming and events.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to effectively communicate with program participants, families, and community partners. Requirements

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires the ability to operate phones, computers, audiovisual equipment, makerspace tools, and other office equipment, along with the physical ability to perform light lifting and set up program materials. Work is typically performed in classrooms, community centers, makerspaces, schools, offices, virtual environments, or outdoor event settings and may involve standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and walking. The agency will make accommodations when necessary. This person may be required to travel to various locations throughout Tarrant County and the surrounding service area. Generally, the working conditions have little or no exposure to extremes in safety hazards or hazardous materials.
