About the role We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to serve as the key technical link between Product Development, Supply, and our factories, driving DFM excellence and the industrialization of sheet metal processing technologies across Europe. This is an individual expert position (no team management). We are hiring two professionals, who depending on their location could be based in either Fertőd (Hungary) or Namysłów (Poland). Meet your future team You will join the Center of Excellence for Cladding, Flashing & Installation (Supply Engineering)

  • a team of 7 growing to 9, with the two roles we are now hiring. We are collaborative, structured, and results-oriented, working closely across functions, sites, and suppliers in a fast-paced international environment. What you will do This is not a classic Project Manager position. We are looking for someone who combines hands-on experience in running complex industrial projects with deep technical expertise in sheet metal processing, which is crucial for success in this role. More specifically, your tasks will be to:
  • Lead industrialization and production technology projects, driving execution from concept to implementation across VELUX's European manufacturing footprint.
  • Define and specify manufacturing equipment and production line requirements in close collaboration with factories, engineering teams, and external machine suppliers.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) excellence, ensuring new product designs are optimized for efficient, scalable, and cost-effective high-volume production.
  • Support new technology exploration projects that will shape the future of Cladding, Flashing & Installation production setups.
  • Serve as the primary technical partner for Product Development and Manufacturing, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Bring deep expertise in sheet metal processing to enable informed decision-making, stakeholder alignment, and the development of future-proof production setups. What you will bring
  • A degree in degree in manufacturing engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field (other educational backgrounds are also welcome with relevant experience).
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in a technical/ manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal processing
  • including roll forming, cutting, bending, embossing, deep drawing, and various seaming technologies.
  • Proven experience in specifying production equipment and processes for large-scale manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Creo is an advantage but not required.
  • Experience working in an international organisation and a matrix structure.
  • Advanced communication skills in English (spoken and written).
