Summary The Air Force offers qualified applicants opportunities to be hired for certain occupations covered by Direct Hire Authorities (DHA). Duties For additional information on direct hire opportunities with the Air Force please click here. Performs troubleshooting on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components. Accomplishes operational and maintenance record keeping, both manual and automated, associated with aircraft maintenance and repair. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area. WG-8800 Aircraft Overhaul Family Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Trouble shooting Ideal Candidate: Should complete Aviation Maintenance (A&P) Training from an accredited Vocational/Technical College or University or related Military technical training. Must be able to install, adjust, align, troubleshoot, and perform final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assembles, and components such as airframe, landing gear, power plant, gear boxes, pumps, and hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic, and flight control systems.
