Overview: Summer Interns complete a 10 week internship centered around professional development, career growth and building the necessary skills to succeed. Summer Interns participate in projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and play an important role in building the future of the Bank. As an Intern, you will gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders and a built-in network with peers as well as priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank. Department Description: The Consumer ILN Insurance Servicing team handles two core functions for indirect auto, boat, and RV loans – insurance claim assistance and optional products cancellations. The insurance claim assistance covers the work of total loss and endorsements. If any of our customers are involved in an accident that results in the either the totaling of the unit OR requires insurance covered repairs, this team will assist the customer with their insurance claims, GAP claims, product cancellations, and any check processing requirements to the repair facilities. The optional products work covers cancelling ancillary products financed within the indirect loans at time of total loss, repossession, early payoff, or customer request. The team preps the products, uses a vendor to distribute the cancellation notices and gather the refund amounts owed to customers, then ensures the refund amount is accurate before refunding the customer via loan payment or check. Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete duties and responsibilities of an entry-level professional nature specific to assigned area of the Bank.
- Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and external regulations as applicable.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations.
