Job Description Summary GE Vernova's Hydro Power business is seeking an experienced Senior Contract Manager to join the North America Contract Management team. Reporting to the North America Contract Management Leader, this role provides commercial and contractual leadership across major hydroelectric projects throughout Canada. Contract Management at GE Vernova is integrated into project delivery from the bid and negotiation stages through execution, close-out and warranty. The Senior Contract Manager develops and executes contractual strategies, manages commercial risk, leads negotiations, supports change and claims management, and protects GE Vernova's contractual interests throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will bring significant experience in EPC and complex infrastructure contracting, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to influence project outcomes through disciplined risk management and effective stakeholder engagement. Job Description Your Impact
- Lead contractual strategy for significant Canadian hydroelectric projects from bid through execution, close-out and warranty.
- Protect and strengthen GE Vernova's commercial position through disciplined contract execution, risk mitigation and opportunity development.
- Partner with project leadership on changes, claims strategy, customer and supplier interfaces, and key commercial decisions.
- Drive contractual rigor, compliance, transparency and timely escalation throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Responsibilities End-to-End Contract Management
- Manage contractual aspects of assigned projects from bid preparation through execution, close-out and warranty.
- Draft, review and tailor commercial clauses based on project requirements and the applicable contractual framework.
- Participate in the negotiation and finalization of contracts, amendments and other commercial arrangements with customers, partners, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure project teams understand and apply contractual obligations.
- Prepare notices, amendments, change submissions, claims and other contractual communications in accordance with contract requirements and internal governance.
- Support project teams in establishing performance indicators for risk mitigation and opportunity management. Contract Strategy, Change and Risk Management
- Analyze contracts to identify risks, opportunities, deviations and key watchpoints.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the contract management plan for each assigned project.
- Provide recommendations that protect the company’s commercial and contractual interests.
- Lead strategies related to changes, claims, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution in coordination with project leadership and Legal.
- Ensure relevant contractual requirements are appropriately flowed down to supplier and subcontractor agreements on a back-to-back basis, where applicable.
- Manage contractual notices, changes, claims, disputes and insurance matters as required. Stakeholder Collaboration and Project Governance
- Work closely with project teams, commercial leaders, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, finance, sourcing and other internal stakeholders.
- Advise teams on contractual issues and contribute to informed decision-making.
- Track contractual commitments and communicate requirements across the project.
- Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews and help drive mitigation and opportunity-capture plans.
- Provide regular contractual risk assessments and updates through established governance and review processes.
- Maintain constructive professional relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and partners.
- Mentor and coach less experienced contract management professionals as needed. Contract Compliance and Documentation Control
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and document deviations as needed.
- Maintain traceable contractual records and key decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor deviations and changes to protect and enforce contractual rights.
- Coordinate major claims with Legal and recommend solutions to complex contractual and commercial issues.
- Establish and maintain procedures for correspondence, notices, insurance, delays, variations and claims documentation.
- Ensure contractual records, notices, correspondence and supporting documentation are timely, complete and maintained in accordance with governance and evidentiary requirements.
- Establish and maintain tracking tools for obligations, milestones and contractual events. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance, Law or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated contract management experience in complex project environments such as EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy or other major industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to compile, structure, negotiate and draft complex, high-value amendments, changes and claims.
- Strong understanding of project financial drivers, including costs, margins, risks, opportunities and cash impact, and their relationship to contract management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Canada as required. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hydropower, power generation, major infrastructure or other complex industrial project environments.
- Strong experience managing turnkey or EPC projects.
- Experience with major equipment supply, installation, consortium or other complex project delivery models.
- Experience working with utility, public-sector or major institutional customers in Canada.
- Experience managing significant claims, dispute avoidance or dispute matters.
- Ability to negotiate effectively across internal and external stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- French language capability.

- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15-25% within Canada, depending on project allocation, site requirements and business needs. For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $126,300 and $189,500 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: Discretionary annual bonus.
