About the Opportunity The Exercise Psychology Laboratory (Director, Dr. Neha P. Gothe) at the Institute for Cognitive & Brain Health is seeking a part-time Research Coordinator. The Research Coordinator will support a wide range of research projects focused on promoting healthy lifestyle interventions across the lifespan. These include a focus on mind-body interventions of physical activity and nutrition incorporating mindfulness and yoga and their impact on physiological and psychological health outcomes. Visit for more information about the lab. This position may serve as a launching pad to graduate and professional (e.g. medical school) studies Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience conducting human subjects research Collecting and organizing data, conducting statistical analyses, and coding in computer languages (SPSS, R, etc.)
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite and research databases such as RedCap.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and dependable.
- Have an ability to work and troubleshoot independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge and skills are normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS in a Health-related field) and at least one year experience in a lab environment.
- A master's degree (MA/MS) is desirable but not required.
- A yoga teacher training certification is desirable but not required. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Research activities (60%):
- Composing and modifying review board protocols.
- Developing and posting advertisements (flyers, writing ads) for research participant recruitment.
- Contacting, screening, and scheduling potential research participants.
- Maintaining a secure recruitment database (RedCap, etc.).
- Conducting research study visits.
- Computer coding tasks and analyses (R, MatLab, Python, etc.).
- Literature review and scientific products. Outreach and education (40%):
- Developing relationships within the greater Boston communit to recruit participants.
- Developing outreach activities and workshops to recruit study participants.
- Explaining complex scientific constructs to relevant audiences.
- Summarizing empirical research papers for the public for online publication (e.g., blog posts , newsletters).
- Leveraging social media for the lab projects and dissemination.
- Design and lead group discussion and physical activity classes for participants to build community Position Type Research Additional Information Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer. Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 106H Expected Hiring Range: $23.37 - $32.14 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
