Company: Marsh Description: IT Business Analysts are responsible for the planning, development and implementation of technology and process-based solutions within the insurance and reinsurance industry. In partnership with business leaders, clients and vendors, they identify business needs, define process requirements and systems specifications, and implement solutions that drive operational efficiency and competitive advantage. An IT Business Analyst is an established, independent individual contributor, whose work has a direct impact on the team's outcomes and the success of Marsh's insurance and reinsurance solutions. We will count on you to: Business Requirements & Strategy Translation

  • Translates business strategies and objectives into actionable business requirements, with deep understanding of insurance and reinsurance workflows
  • Provides traceability of business requirements to IT Solutions and ensures system testing encompasses existing capabilities of solution as well as future function point requirements
  • Identifies, verifies and documents functional requirements using Requirements Management methodology and tools Insurance & Reinsurance Domain Expertise
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting processes, claims management, and reinsurance operations
  • Understands key industry concepts including premium calculation, risk assessment, policy administration, and treaty/facultative reinsurance structures
  • Translates complex insurance and reinsurance business processes into system requirements that align with regulatory compliance and industry best practices
  • Partners with underwriting, claims, finance and reinsurance teams to ensure solutions address industry-specific pain points and regulatory requirements
  • Identifies opportunities to modernize legacy insurance systems and improve data interoperability across the insurance value chain Requirements & Data Management
  • Identifies data elements and provides data mappings/dictionaries, with expertise in insurance-specific data structures (e.g., policy data, claims data, exposure data, cedent information)
  • Analyzes, designs, redesigns and documents "as is" and "to be" business processes specific to insurance operations
  • Ensures development community has a clear and complete understanding of the requirements
  • Manages scope creep and prioritizes requirements based on business impact and regulatory deadlines Quality Assurance & User Acceptance
  • Conducts and facilitates acceptance tests for solutions with user community, including development of UAT test scenarios and test scripts tailored to insurance workflows
  • Develops, delivers and evaluates training and supplemental materials for insurance and reinsurance end-users
  • Works with business stakeholders to validate that solutions meet both functional and compliance requirements Feasibility & Impact Analysis
  • Conducts and analyzes feasibility studies and impact assessments regarding implementation of IT solutions against current state parameters (process, application use-cases, and non-functional impact)
  • Evaluates integration requirements across insurance platforms (policy admin systems, claims systems, financial systems, reinsurance management systems)
  • Identifies risks and dependencies related to insurance data migration, legacy system decommissioning, and regulatory change management
  • Partners with Business/IT to define and manage scope with each release What you need to have:
  • Domain Expertise : Clear understanding of insurance value chains, underwriting cycles, and reinsurance market dynamics
  • Communication : Ability to translate between highly technical development teams and non-technical business users in fast-paced environments
  • Analytical Thinking : Strong problem-solving skills with ability to break down complex insurance processes into clear requirements
  • Attention to Detail : Precision in documentation and accuracy in tracing requirements through testing and implementation
  • Stakeholder Management : Experience managing competing priorities across multiple business units and vendors
  • Regulatory Awareness : Understanding of insurance regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, data privacy, underwriting standards) What makes you stand out:
