Summary: Methode Electronics is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Intern – FP&A to support our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis activities. This internship offers hands-on experience working with financial models, budgeting processes, business performance metrics, and executive-level reporting within a global manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to develop practical finance skills while partnering with business leaders to drive data-informed decision-making. Exposure to advanced analytics and AI-powered tools used in modern financial planning environments will provide valuable experience in improving forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range planning activities.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes through variance analysis and performance reporting.
  • Analyze financial results, including revenue, operating expenses, profitability, and key business drivers, to identify trends and insights.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries for leadership review.
  • Conduct cost, pricing, margin, and profitability analyses to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to gather data and improve financial reporting processes.
  • Research market, industry, and macroeconomic trends to support strategic planning and forecasting initiatives.
  • Utilize data analytics and AI-powered tools to improve reporting efficiency, perform trend analysis, and enhance financial insights.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to automate financial reporting, streamline workflows, and improve data accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses supporting corporate and business unit objectives. Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and business data.
  • Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate finance principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization, reporting, or business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or similar technologies to support data analysis, forecasting, reporting, research, and process optimization is preferred.
