Workday Internal Jobs Site for Students Position Title: University Information & Tickets Desk Staff Job Category: Student Hourly Job Profile: Student Help Job Summary: Job Description The University Information and Ticket Office (UIT) Front Desk Staff serve as a representative of the University Centers (DUC) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as a whole. This role focuses on providing positive customer service by greeting visitors, answering questions, fielding inquiries, and assisting with ticket sales at the UIT desk and off-site events. Front Desk Staff support daily office operations, including opening and closing duties, processing ticket transactions, handling cash and credit card payments, and completing administrative services such as lost and found and campus reservation payments. This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to university policies, required training, and evening and weekend commitments. This position reports to the UIT Student Manager and takes directions from the UIT Full-Time Manager. Department University Information & Tickets Compensation $12.50/hour The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I, Range I . Required Qualifications Applicants must be available to work between 5–15 hours per week during the semester and attend staff meetings and events as necessary, including the specified number of evening/weekend event shifts. Students applying for this position must pass a Criminal Background Check initiated by the University Centers. Successful applicants must complete mandatory Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance Training within 8 weeks of beginning employment. PCI training will be provided by the University Centers and must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers. Preferred Qualifications Applicants should demonstrate a strong awareness of campus services and resources, including general knowledge of university policies, office locations, and campus layout. Effective customer service and communication skills, proper telephone etiquette, basic office and cash-handling experience, and the ability to work efficiently with a team are preferred. While not required, access to reliable transportation is helpful for commuting to off-site ticket sale locations. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP. Education The Front Desk Staff must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
