Supervisory Police Officer

Summary About the Position: Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 1 year 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Duties

• Direct, manage and supervise all law enforcement desk operations on an assigned shift.
• Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
• Review all law enforcement reports and supporting documentation to include substantiating charges for correctness, completeness, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Perform required lifesaving first aid in the event of an emergency as the first responder to an incident until medical emergency personnel arrive.
• Review journals, blotters, critical information reports, serious incident reports and other correspondence as necessary and disseminate them as required by standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper receipt, processing and safekeeping of evidence in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain communications with mobile patrol units, access control points, to pass direction and information to Police Officers.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) conducting full range of complex law enforcement such as interviewing witnesses and interrogating suspects; 2) providing training and guidance on law enforcement regulations and procedures; AND 3) leading or supervising employees in the area of security or law enforcement. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Criminal Law Investigation and Reporting Leadership Reading Comprehension Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
