Job Description Job Title: Senior Quality Analyst Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Quality Analyst to join our team at AirAsia. The Senior QA will take a lead role in ensuring the quality, scalability, and functionality of our software products through advanced testing, automation architecture, and deep analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in software testing methodologies, a passion for mentoring peers, and the ability to drive quality-first engineering practices in a fast-paced Agile environment. Key Responsibilities: Test Planning and Execution:

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of complex test plans and test cases across multiple projects or critical systems.
  • Review and approve detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans created by junior team members.
  • Drive the estimation, prioritization, planning, and coordination of testing activities to meet stringent project timelines.
  • Oversee and execute advanced functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing, including performance and security considerations. Defect Management:
  • Identify, document, and track critical defects, performing deep root-cause analysis on systemic issues.
  • Lead defect triaging sessions, analyze complex test results, and provide actionable, data-driven reports to engineering leadership.
  • Define and oversee the regression testing strategy to ensure zero disruption when major bugs are resolved. Testing Tools:
  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and scripts for efficient testing processes.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for test automation tools, driving the team to achieve and maintain 90%+ automation coverage.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new testing tools, and test strategies to modernize the QA framework. Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with lead developers, product managers, and enterprise architects to shape product features and technical requirements.
  • Act as a QA lead in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies, advocating for quality at every stage.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Quality Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Quality Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement of enterprise testing processes and methodologies (e.g., Shift-Left testing).
  • Define, track, and analyze quality assurance metrics, such as defect escape rates and automation ROI, to present to stakeholders.
  • Champion quality engineering principles throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 4-7 years of experience in QA roles with a proven track record of leading testing initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress). Experience with legacy tools like Selenium is a plus as we transition to modern tech.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to adopt AI-driven testing tools (e.g., visual AI like Applitools, AI code assistants like GitHub Copilot).
  • Advanced understanding of software testing principles, test architecture, and methodologies.
  • Extensive experience in API and Web services testing using tools such as Postman, including creating automated API test suites.
  • Deep expertise in mobile testing and device farm integration.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system architectures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proven experience working within and optimizing Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst or Test Automation Engineer).
  • Deep experience with specific tools/technologies relevant to AirAsia's technology stack.
  • Strong familiarity with the aviation, travel tech, or e-commerce industry domain. Work Environment:
  • Office environment with occasional need to visit production or testing sites.
