A day in the life of a Retail Marketing Associate Manager at The North Face looks a little like this. As a member of the Americas Retail Marketing & Visual Merchandising Team, the primary responsibility of the Associate Manager for Retail Marketing is to support and execute seasonal brand experience initiatives in DTC Retail, owned and operated full price and outlet doors, to support elevated marketing strategies and creative retail direction for the consumer journey at The North Face. Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
  • Elevated Marketing – Support the ongoing creation and evolution of our elevated marketing presentations season over season with guidance from your leader, working with internal retail design and external creative agencies determined by project scope. Use both evergreen and seasonal brand concepts to develop a system of marketing that aligns to our approach for key collections and energy capsules.
  • Budget Tracking
  • Working in partnership and guidance with your leader you will support our financial planning by closely tracking and reconciling spends in the budget tracker and COUPA, manage PO generation and communicating updates regularly within team.
  • Drive Brand Marketing in Retail Stores – Support current marketing programs in Retail by maintaining evergreen library, replacements, and best practices. Support elevating the approaches and strategies for marketing in the windows and store environment.
  • Styling : Support your leader in continuing to drive elevated and aligned styling POV across the consumer journey through research and creation of the Brand Styling Guide. Working cross functionally with product, creative and buying to stay in tune with brand initiatives, authentic propping, athlete roster and other relevant TNF brand ethos work and use that foundational knowledge to support creating resource documents and embedding into Retail Brand Marketing tools.
  • Retail Lab and Sample Coordination- Assist in managing the sample closet and Retail Lab (Mock Store) which includes sample and supply orders, processing, and on-going inventory management. In partnership with your leader, you will stay on top of scheduling the space for team projects with coordination of requests from other teams. Ensure both spaces are kept organized and maintained in working order.
  • Build and Communicate Store Facing Directives – Create store-facing directives for windows and in-store marketing with campaign creative and presentation renders, writing instructive copy pertaining to install, clarifying store nuances, and submitting all store communication to DTC Operations partners. In some cases, you will be creating these directives yourself for Americas initiatives; in others you will be partnering with the Global Retail team on taking their directives and driving regional campaign build-out.
  • Assist With Seasonal Setups – Play an active role in the creative ideation process and workshopping for tools such as the Global Styling Guides, Visual Guidebooks, Mock Store exercises, and other relevant projects. What do you need to succeed? We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 4+ years of experience and professional achievements. The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
  • Understanding of retail business concepts in buying, POS marketing and consumer experience. Knowledge of how the ecosystem works and the team’s role within.
  • Strong visual merchandising skills in both planning and execution. Experience in apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories is a big plus.
  • Combined field and corporate retail experience is a plus.
  • Experience building documents and templates as a wire frame for strategic work
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite Now WE have a question for YOU.
