Promo Video Editor – US Market (English/Hindi) Product: FreeDrama (Kuku) Location: Mumbai preferred; remote can be considered depending on the candidate About the Role We’re looking for a high-intent, versatile Promo Video Editor to create performance-driven content for the US market. We’re looking for someone with strong editing skills, storytelling instincts, creative taste and a sharp understanding of audience attention — someone who can take good footage and turn it into a promo people actually want to watch. Understanding of microdramas / short-form drama is a must. This is a fast-paced startup, and there will be limited time for learning the fundamentals from scratch. What we care about the most: your editing instincts, creative taste, speed, ownership and ability to figure shit out. What You’ll Do Edit high-performing video promos for microdramas across formats. Turn scripts, concepts and raw footage into sharp, engaging performance creatives. Watch shows/episodes and identify the strongest scenes, reactions, conflicts, reveals and emotional moments to build promos around. Make strong decisions around shot selection, pacing, sequencing, cuts, music, sound design, supers and visual storytelling. Understand the creative intent behind a promo and execute it without needing every edit spelled out for you. Work closely with Promo Producers to turn concepts and scripts into strong final videos. Experiment with hooks, openings, pacing and scene combinations to improve the creative. Use creative feedback and performance learnings to improve your next edit. Maintain strong output and quality while working in a high-volume creative environment. What We’re Looking For 1–4 years of experience across video editing, post-production, entertainment, content, social, advertising, microdrama or related fields. Extremely strong editing instincts and visual storytelling taste. Someone who understands different kinds of hooks and why they matter — how to grab attention, retain the audience, make them fucking feel something and leave them with no choice but to click. Has an extremely strong sense of pacing and purpose — if even one second of a promo isn’t moving the story forward, it doesn’t belong there. Strong understanding of audience attention, emotion and retention. Good eye for shots, reactions, timing, music, sound and visual details that make a promo hit harder. Fast, dependable and receptive to feedback. Takes ownership of their work and solves problems instead of waiting to be spoon-fed. Extremely results-biased. We talk less and do more. Proficient with editing tools and comfortable learning new tools quickly, including AI tools. Knows how to think outside the box — and, equally importantly, when not to. Strong written and spoken English.
