Position Summary The Membership Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, building and nurturing new and existing relationships with key business’s, segments, and strategic partners, fostering community engagement, and driving credit union growth. This position requires a bold, proactive and entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and living our brand in the community. Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities Business Development:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure partnerships with businesses and organizations that align with the credit union’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement membership development strategies that support growth objectives.
  • Maintain an understanding of the local market and industry trends to identify potential business opportunities. Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business partners and strategic segments, ensuring excellent service and support throughout the partnership lifecycle.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with existing branches and business partners, ensuring mutual value is delivered.
  • Address partner concerns and opportunities in a timely and effective manner. Community Engagement & Networking:
  • Actively network and engage with community organizations, local businesses, and key stakeholders to establish meaningful, long-term relationships.
  • Represent Financial Plus Credit Union at community events, business expos, and networking forums to enhance visibility and secure business opportunities. Strategic Planning & Execution:
  • Collaborate with leadership to create and execute strategic plans that drive member growth and business development.
  • Develop and maintain a network of influential business contacts that contribute to the success of the credit union’s goals.
  • Monitor and report on the success of partnership initiatives, adjusting strategy through weekly plans and team meetings.
  • Enforces compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements, and should request legal interpretation as necessary to identify compliance concerns.
  • Adhere to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and internal compliance with standard polices relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, relationship management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and relevant systems Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and credit unions.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with the local business community and market is highly desirable.
  • Ability to attend community events and meetings potentially outside of regular business hours.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.
  • Represents FPCU with professionalism and purpose, communicating with members through respectful and solution-focused verbal and written communications that support a member-focused experience.
  • Engages in effective interpersonal communication, diplomacy, and collaboration skills to develop productive relationships, encourage cooperation, and support positive member and employee experiences. Maintains compliance with all applicable policies, demonstrating integrity, respect, and accountability while handling sensitive information and complying with FPCU policies, regulatory expectations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to apply logistical reasoning, analytical skills, and professional judgment to define and solve problems with effective and compliant solutions.
