Logistics outsourcing service "Rakuten Super Logistics (RSL)" for merchants in Rakuten Ichiba ・ Online bookstore "Rakuten Books" ・ Online shopping site for daily necessities, health foods, pharmaceuticals, etc. "Rakuten 24" (Rakuten Direct) ・ Online Fashion site that officially handles popular apparel brands, "Rakuten Fashion" Our department provides services that supports the business models described above, such as ・ Warehouse Management System (WMS) ・ Transportation Management System (TMS) ・ Collaboration with Rakuten Ichiba The wide ranges of services we provide requires diversity in many areas, such as personality, knowledge and working environment. Logistics Data Analytics Group
- have vision to help the whole logistics department to become a data driven organization. We are using GCP as our data platform foundation and building the data analytics platform on GCP. We are proceeding with data visualization, business insight and trend predictions based on our data to help the business side on decision making, cost optimization and so on. We are focusing on 2 fields: ・ Data Analytics and Visualization
- Adopting a data-driven approach to utilize data for issue identification, resolution, and support in business strategy decision-making. ・ AI Utilization
- Promoting the efficiency and innovation of business processes. Position: Why We Hire Our logistics data platform is nearing completion. As we move from the infrastructure-building phase (0 to 1) to the value-realization phase (1 to 100), we are looking for a Logistics Data Business Partner to lead the next chapter of our journey. Your mission is to pivot our focus toward data utilization. You will be the vital link between our logistics business and our engineering team, ensuring that we leverage our new data platform and emerging AI technologies to drive tangible business results
- specifically, expanding sales and reducing operational costs. Position Details ・ Strategic Bridge: Act as the primary interface between logistics business, operations and our engineering team. You will translate ambiguous business pain points into structured, data-driven workstreams. ・ Technical Guidance: While you are not expected to be the primary coder, you will guide our Data Scientists and Engineers by evaluating analytical approaches, ensuring model selection is robust, and maintaining high standards for scalability and performance. ・ Project Ownership: Drive data utilization projects from "idea" to "reality." Manage stakeholder expectations, track ROI, and ensure our solutions are not just technically sound but practically adopted by warehouse operations. ・ Organizational Catalyst: Shift the team’s focus from "building dashboards" to "improving business KPIs." Use your broad knowledge of Data Engineering and AI to identify where we can drive the most impact in sales growth and cost reduction. Work Environment Mandatory Qualifications: ・ 3+ years of experience in data-driven business roles (e.g., Data Business Partner, Analytics Lead, Logistics Strategy). ・ Strong Business Sense: Proven ability to translate business goals into data/AI requirements. ・ Communication Mastery: English: Professional working proficiency for technical team collaboration. Japanese: Business-level proficiency for stakeholder engagement and operational coordination. ・ Data Literacy: Familiarity with data analysis and data science concepts (you don’t need to be an engineer, but you must know what is possible and how to guide the team). ・ Project Management: A track record of pushing projects from "idea" to "reality" in a complex, cross-functional environment. Desired Qualifications: ・ Experience in the logistics, supply chain, or e-commerce industry. ・ Understanding of the modern data stack (GCP, BigQuery, Looker, etc.) and how they translate into business insights. ・ Experience in a fast-paced, scale-up environment where you have moved a project from early-stage development to full production.
